As an urban infill site, we have developed this scheme in relation to it surroundings, massing and urban feel but tried to create something fresh and contemporary. Designed over three levels, supported by amenity spaces front and back for each apartment, crucial in a changing world of more home-working post COVID-19 and the need for alternative places to enjoy life. Based on ‘area standards’ these apartments provide more flexibility long term living by creating that little additional space for more variation around furniture and personal curation! Building fabric is proposed in natural materials, brick and zinc for the walls with dark grey windows and green roof with photovoltaics. Roof lighting has been used where possible to give even better natural lighting.
